⚡ THE STORY OF LIGHTNING SQUAD ORGANIZATION ⚡

It Was Never Supposed to Be an Organization. It Was Supposed to Be a Connection.

The Lightning Squad Organization was never originally meant to become an organization.

It started with something much simpler: a love for the game, a love for family, and a desire to bring parents

and their children closer together.

It all began when Coach Henderson was coaching youth baseball in Dickinson, Texas. While standing on those fields and watching kids play the game they loved, he began to see something bigger.

Coach Henderson believed sports could be more than just wins and losses. They could create

opportunities for families to spend time together, build relationships, teach life lessons, and create memories that would last far beyond the baseball field.

And then, God gave him a vision.

A Vision for Families

Coach Henderson began thinking:

What if the parents could play too?

The idea was simple.

The kids could play baseball on Saturday and Sunday, while their parents could come together and play adult softball on Friday nights.

Not far from the Dickinson baseball fields was Big League Dreams in League City, Texas, a sports park that offered adult softball leagues.

Coach Henderson saw an opportunity.

Coach Henderson saw an opportunity.

Parents playing.

Kids playing.

Families supporting one another.

One love for the game bringing everyone together.

It wasn’t about creating an organization.

Hello

Welcome

It was about creating a family connection through sports.

🌩️ WHEN ONE DOOR CLOSED, GOD OPENED ANOTHER

For several seasons, Coach Henderson continued working with the youth program, Thunder Baseball.

But eventually, things began to change.

The youth program started to decline as larger and more established organizations moved into the area and began recruiting players away from the program.

What looked like a setback at the time was actually a setup for something bigger.

Sometimes, God closes one chapter because He is preparing you to write another.

And that is exactly what happened.

⚡ THE BIRTH OF LIGHTNING SQUAD

On April 14, 2023, the vision began to take a new shape.

The Lightning Squad Organization put together its very first adult softball squad.

What started as an idea to connect parents and children through the love of sports had now become something real.

But Coach Henderson quickly realized that Lightning Squad could be about much more than softball.

It could become a place where people could find family, friendship, competition, accountability, encouragement, community, and faith.

The vision began growing.

One team became the beginning of something much larger.

❤️ MORE THAN A TEAM. WE’RE A FAMILY.

Lightning Squad has continued to grow from that original vision.

Today, the organization is built around the belief that sports can bring people together and create something bigger than what happens between the lines.

We believe in teamwork.

We believe in respect.

We believe in accountability.

We believe in community.

We believe in family.

And most importantly, we believe in putting our faith in God and giving Him the glory for every opportunity He places before us.

Our journey hasn’t always been easy.

There have been setbacks, challenges, victories, disappointments, new beginnings, and moments when we had to keep moving forward even when the path wasn’t clear.

But through it all, the vision has remained.

Bring people together.

Build relationships.

Create memories.

Compete with heart.

Serve our communities.

And let our faith guide the journey.

⚡ FROM ONE SQUAD TO A GROWING FAMILY

What began with Coach Henderson simply wanting parents and children to share a love for the game has grown into the Lightning Squad Organization.

And we believe this is only the beginning.

We don’t know exactly how far this journey will take us.

But we know where it started.

It started on baseball fields in Dickinson, Texas.

It started with a coach who wanted families to connect.

It started with a vision God placed on his heart.

And on April 14, 2023, that vision took its first major step when the first Lightning Squad adult softball team took the field.

The name may be Lightning Squad.

The sport may change.

The teams may grow.

The journey may continue.

But the heart of the organizationwill always remain the same:

MORE THAN A TEAM. WE’RE A FAMILY.

Where Faith Fuels Competition and Teams Become Family.
